Someone commented that there has not been much on the blog lately about birds. So here's a pic of a Water Rail I caught first thing this morning, in the heligoland, when I popped out to the loo. Interestingly, I'd heard Water Rail calling while sat on the loo a couple of weeks ago and Elaine got the chance today to see her first one in the hand while sat on the loo!

ReplyDeleteI have just discovered your blog, what an adventure. For 40 years I have looked over at Bardsey and thought about visiting, letting being a none swimmer put me off the boat trip, then someone commented that the whole idea of boats is that you dont need to swim! never thought of that. Anyway best of luck, its snowing here in Llithfaen, hope it is for you too. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteWe've only had a light dusting of snow. In the nicer weather there are daily boat trips to the island from Porth Meudwy, near Aberdaron. We hope you give it a try next year.
